"Lying"
Lying can be a good or a bad thing and the truth is that everybody lies. Whether it is for good cause or not lies are bad. People sometimes use lies to make themselves look better than others but is it really helping or does it make them look worse. Then you start loosing respect and trust from others. Yo cant expect someone to trust you when all you have been doing is lying. Lying is bad. However, there are some instances in which lying should be allowed like speaking with children. There are situations when lying to children is necessary. Sometimes the innocence of children should be preserved until they're old enough to understand things better. For example, if a child is in the hospital and he is going to die you are not going to tell him that because the best you can do is say "everything is going to be okay". Another example in which preserving the innocence of a child is important can be Christmas. The way parents lie to their children telling them that Santa is going to come at midnight and bring gifts if they're good throughout the year. These kinds of lies are important you see how happy you can make kid by telling them Santa Clause is real.Sometimes lying is required either to get yourself out of trouble or protect the person you love. Regardless the reason we should all try to reduce our lying and live in a world where the truth is more important than caring if someones likes us for who we pretend to be.

ReplyDeleteThis is an interesting paradox: lying - which is essentially a loss of innocence for the speaker - may preserve the innocence of children - which are too young to ascertain the possibilities of a lie. WOW. That's deep stuff.
